Things worth leaving out.
Most dog products are designed as if nobody has to look at them. We think that is the wrong starting point.
I · The premise
A dog bowl sits on your kitchen floor every hour of every day for a decade or more. A collar tag is the one object your dog is never without. These are among the most-seen things in a home, and they are rarely designed to be seen at all.
So we started from the other end: make them as pieces of homeware and jewellery first, and let the function follow. It turns out the function follows rather well. Solid marble keeps water cool without electricity because that is what thermal mass does. It is too heavy to shove across a floor because stone is heavy. Aluminium hardware does not rust in a humid climate because aluminium does not rust.

III · Finite runs
When they are gone, that stone is gone.
We buy stone by the block, and a block yields what it yields. When a page says fourteen bowls, there are fourteen bowls in a room in Singapore, and when they are gone that stone is gone. We are not going to pretend otherwise to make a sale, and we are not going to invent scarcity we don’t have.
Stone is honest about itself in the same way. No two blocks are veined alike, so the bowl that arrives at your door will differ from the one in the photograph, and from everyone else’s. That difference is the point of stone.
